The Open London Community

The Open London Community

This community is part of a wider project. Please read this page for further information on why your contribution counts.

We called it the Open London project because we are opening up the floor to London residents and small and medium enterprises (known as SMEs), to find out how they feel about certain challenges so we can help solve the issues facing London communities. This process is known as Open Innovation.

Our part in this community is to discuss the topics suggested amongst ourselves and gradually come to six (one per topic) suitably sized challenges, issues or unmet needs to then hand them over to the SMEs of London to compete to solve.

Our ‘Challenge Holders’ will be large organisations, for example, Councils, parts of the NHS in London, or large companies like M&S - who might have an interest in solving these six challenges. By the end of the project in December 2025, when the SMEs have been through the ‘Open London Accelerator’ - a learning programme for them to improve their offer and business, we will have six new ideas to solve the issues you have found and an agreement between the Challenge Holder and the winning SME to make the winning ideas into reality.

It all starts with you!

This community will run until 30th September 2023. The whole Open London project is due to be completed by December 2025.

This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered by Newable Trade (London) Ltd with support from 100%Open Ltd.
